Help & FAQs
Common questions about how ElevenPlus works, what's covered, and how to get the most out of it for your family.
How does ElevenPlus work?
You add your child, pick their year group, and they log in with their own username + PIN. Each day they see a focused 'Up next' card — typically a Smart Review of questions they got wrong recently, or a Daily Challenge if their queue is empty. As they practise, the parent dashboard tracks subjects, weak topics, time spent, and exam countdowns.
What ages and year groups is it for?
Built for UK Year 5 and Year 6 students (ages 9–11) preparing for 11+ grammar and independent-school entrance exams. Year 7 catch-up content is supported for late starters; younger Year 3–4 children can also use it for early adaptive practice.
What subjects are covered?
Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, and Non-Verbal Reasoning — the four core 11+ subjects. Science, History, Geography, Physical Education, and other wider-curriculum subjects are also available for kids who want a broader practice scope. You can hide subjects you don't need.
How does the AI tutor work?
When your child gets stuck on a question, they can tap 'Ask the tutor'. The tutor explains the underlying concept in plain language — in voice or text — without giving the answer away. It uses xAI's Grok voice model, with prompts tuned for UK 11+ syllabi.
How is my child's data kept safe?
Children log in with a username + PIN — no email address is required. Data is stored in the UK on AWS. We never share data with third parties for advertising. Parents can delete a child's account at any time from the parent dashboard, and all their progress and test history is removed.
Does my child need an email?
No. Only the parent account has an email address. Children log in with a username (you pick it) and a 4–6 digit PIN. This avoids the safeguarding overhead of children having their own mailboxes.
How do I add a co-parent or tutor?
On the parent dashboard, tap '+ Add Guardian' in the Family Overview. Enter their email and pick which children they should see. They'll receive an invite link and accept by signing in or signing up. Co-parents see the same dashboard you do; you can also grant 'view only' or 'manage learning' access for tutors.
How do I reset my child's PIN?
On the parent dashboard, tap the ⋮ menu on your child's card and choose 'Manage'. In the modal, type a new 4–6 digit PIN in the Reset PIN field and save. The new PIN is active immediately. We never display the existing PIN — it's hashed server-side.
What's the parent digest email?
An AI-written weekly (or daily / monthly) summary of how each child is getting on. It picks out what to celebrate and one specific thing to work on per child. You can change the cadence or turn it off entirely from Account Settings — tap the ⚙️ icon in the parent dashboard header.
Can I see exactly what my child practised?
Yes. The parent dashboard's Progress tab shows recent tests, weak topics, mastery trends, and a 14-day activity heatmap. You can drill into any subject or topic to see the kid's accuracy and the specific questions they got wrong.
